Custom Wheelchair-Accessible Memory Care Sharing Library - Current Work In Progress

Seniors with dementia can sometimes feel isolated and lose independence, especially when it becomes harder for them to communicate. This project will give them a place to access dementia-friendly books, connect with others, be creative, and feel involved in their community. By building the library along with memory care residents, youth volunteers, families, and caregivers, we hope to create a welcoming space and build intergenerational connections that bring people together and benefit seniors for many years.

The project scope includes a permanent, wheelchair-accessible library created with seniors in a memory care community, a dementia-friendly book drive, and an educational flyer about dementia and the benefits of intergenerational connection for the San Diego community.
